The Daily Doodles |
My name is David Michael Chandler, and everyday I will post a Daily Doodle with a story attached to it. This creative exercise is written, drawn, and coloured all on my lonesome. I hope you enjoy them, or die trying. Please E-mail anytime at thedailydoodles@gmail.com |

The Changeling — Part I
Stolen by the Trolls as a baby, and switched with one of their own
The Changeling was raised to be a slave, for the Troll King’s throne.
She didn’t even know, that she was really a human girl by birth
She always just assumed that she was ugliest Troll on Earth.
With no claws, no fangs, no horns, and no scales on her soft skin
The Changeling believed she was cursed due to her ancestor’s sin.
That’s what she was always told, and she saw no reason not to agree
Until she overheard the Troll King’s plans, to murder her human family.
They had finally grown suspicious that the child they raised was not theirs
‘Twas the Troll King’s son! as tradition called for humans to raise the Heirs.
On foot she manages her escape, at the next dawns first break of light
The sunlight is painful for trolls; they much prefer the shade of night.
She has to somehow find her family, before they suffer the Troll King’s wrath
The hills go on for miles, but she hopes she just has to follow the path.
To Be Continued
